Wow! I can tell my life is just getting easier with all these tools! It won't matter where I am, I'll have access to all I need to get all my work done! I had just a little trouble getting those little icons onto the toolbar because my computer would not allow me to add them. I finally went to the Google add on site and it was a snap! They had the most clear cut directions. It was actually automatic and practically did it all for me. Even though I'm learning a lot, I know there is still so much more to each of these tools to learn and explore. I'm having trouble with remembering what things are called, but that's nothing new! Thanks Beth & Ryan for offering this class for us!

RSS Feeds

I forgot to mention the RSS Feeds. If I'm asked about them on the street (or elsewhere), I'll know all about them! I can even tell others what they are. I'm really learning some new things, even though I'm moving slowly. Hey Beth, don't worry about not having anything to do......I'll be plugging away all month! Also, I really wanted to listen to your tutorial, but my computer crashed three times as I tried, so I finally gave up. I love how these blogs are saved automatically.

Pageflakes

I just spent way too much time on setting up my pageflakes page. FUN! This will save me so much time when I need to look something up. It's all on one page! My favorites include NPR podcasts and all the news, even local news! I just quit my subscription to The Skagit Valley Herald. I'm tired of all the recycling! This will be awesome to use. I plan on showing my husband Dean and daughter Nicole how to set up their own page. I may have to share the computer though. I can't think of how to use this in my classroom, but at least I know about this tool! I'll definitely use this!

Becky's My Space

Hi Beth and Ryan. I've set up a My Space account. Spending time on My Space is not something I'm personally interested in. I see it as a waste of time. I guess I'd rather be spending time on my hobbies. (Sorry guys, but My Space isn't one of them!) I can see how kids and other older people could use their My Space accounts as a way to interact, especially if they have trouble making friends in person. It's a safe format in which to share ideas, make friends without judgements of appearance. I can see it as being beneficial in a school setting to get homework help, but I guess blogging would work just as well.

I'm enjoying the class so far! I know I'm a bit behind, but I had to get my computer fixed first! I hope I can catch up. I got ANOTHER puppy. Winston needed a companion. The new puppy is named Bentley and he looks a lot like Winston. He's 4 months old and Winston is 6 1/2 months old.
