I had a chance to respond to Susanne's Open Court Reading forum. I can see that this is a great way to post new information and receive help from others on a topic. For example, I need help figuring out what and where to buy an adapter for my iPod to use in my car. Not the one for the cigarette lighter, but one for new cars that are already set up to listen to an MP3 player. Perhaps this would be a new forum?
I can't think of how I would use Moodle with third graders except to set up some extra credit. This would have to be a summer project for me.

Forums can be found for exactly the kind of information you are talking about - probably through the Apple.com site as a place to start looking, or ask Susanne or me about Yahoo Answers. I love having the ability to just ask a question and have people post their responses - a ready-made reference desk at my finger tips.
The Moodle site is definitely best if you have regular access to computers, although I can see using it as a classroom teacher to take polls, share homework, make announcements, post entry tasks and the like. I need to get back to using Moodle in my own classes, as I love having an electronic means of collecting and grading assignments. Perhaps we can dig into it together this summer!
